How many kVA do you really need?
Enter your load and site conditions. The calculator sizes the set the way our engineers do — with power factor, growth, motor starting and Saudi summer derating — and lists the nearest models from our chart.
Your load and site
Enter how many of each item will run at the same time. Watts are typical running values; motor items (AC, pumps, compressors) are checked separately for their starting surge.

Indicative sizing for budgeting. Final selection depends on the actual load list, starting method, harmonic loads (UPS, VFD) and the consultant's spec — we confirm all of this in the technical offer.
How the calculator sizes your generator
The same five checks our engineers run on every load schedule — made transparent so you can see where the number comes from.
- 1
kW to kVA
Generators are rated in kVA. Running kW ÷ power factor (usually 0.8) gives the apparent power the set must deliver.
- 2
Demand and growth
Not everything runs at once, so the connected load is multiplied by a demand factor — then a growth allowance is added for future equipment.
- 3
Motor starting
A direct-on-line motor draws about six times its running kVA for a few seconds. The set must absorb that dip without tripping, so the largest motor is checked separately.
- 4
Site derating
Heat and altitude thin the air. Above 40 °C we derate ~1 % per °C, and above 1,000 m about 3 % per 300 m.
- 5
Operating margin
Diesel engines are happiest at 70–90 % load. A 10 % margin keeps the set out of both wet-stacking at low load and overload at peak.
