Match the garment to the hazard, then to the climate
The hazard decides the specification: flame-resistant (FR) fabrics where there is fire or arc risk, high-visibility garments for traffic and plant areas, chemical-resistant options where splashes are possible. Only after the protection level is fixed should comfort be optimized — and in Saudi Arabia that means lighter weights, breathable weaves and moisture-wicking blends that survive industrial laundering.
A common false economy is buying heavy-duty fabric for jobs with no hazard requiring it. Crews in 45°C heat will leave heavy coveralls unzipped or unworn — and unworn PPE protects no one.
Get the sizing run and branding right
Order against a measured size distribution, not an even split. A typical Saudi site workforce needs more of the middle sizes than a flat allocation assumes, and running out of common sizes mid-contract is the most frequent workwear complaint. Hold a small buffer of the two most common sizes.
For branding, embroidery outlasts printing on garments that are washed industrially. Where printing is used, specify the method and test a sample through several wash cycles before approving the batch. Agree logo position, size and colours once, in writing, so repeat orders match.
